This uint has been established with the grant support of Rs30.00 lakhs from Department of Agricultural Marketing and AgriBusiness, Govt of TN under world bank project (TN Irrigate Agriculture Modernization Project) for purchase of plant and machineries. The total project cost was Rs.85 lakhs which includes Rs.42.00 lakhs for cost of machineries . Besides the copra trading, value added products like Desiccated Coconut powder, Virgin coconut oil, Coconut Testa Oil, Vinegar and Low fat DC are the products envisaged for production and marketing. Per day capacity of the unit is 2500 nuts. The nuts are being sources from NPOP certified Organic Coconut Plantations. GMP certification is under process. This unit will impart training to the FPOs which are interested in establishing similar units.
